The capital market increasingly expects listed companies to report on their strategic sustainability work. Sustainability-related data, sustainability objectives and objective fulfilment are the most demanded topics regarding sustainability on corporate websites, according to the latest results of Webranking by Comprend.
Of the capital market stakeholders surveyed, two thirds request an explanation of sustainability strategy. Equally as many believe that companies should present environmental goals and results on corporate websites.
Few companies live up to the capital market requirements
Despite the increased expectations, the majority of companies do not cater to the requirements of the capital market by providing strategic sustainability information.
Of Europe’s 500 largest companies, only half feature the company’s environmental objectives – but only a quarter present clear results to those objectives.
