Summer is here, which means it is also time for the 20th edition of Webranking by Comprend. Webranking is the only global ranking that is based on stakeholder demands. More than 800 companies are ranked by surveying their websites and corporate social media channels to see how well they meet the expectations by the capital market and jobseekers.

The input from the stakeholders is defined as criteria which we split up in different sections, such as investor relations, reporting, CSR, careers and functions.

The companies surveyed are selected based on market cap – the 500 largest companies in Europe and the 100 largest companies globally, as defined by Financial Times. For selected markets such as the Nordics, we include additional companies.

Updated criteria

As with previous years, we have carried out one survey of the capital market, which includes analysts, investors and business journalists; and one survey to jobseekers, to find out what information they want and expect from listed companies.

Many of the criteria remain the same throughout the years – for instance, there is a consistent demand throughout the years for archived material such as annual reports, and for financial targets. Despite the need for essential information, around one third of the criteria and the importance of those criteria change every year.

The official results are based on 50 core criteria, which in turn consist of a total of 236 sub criteria. Almost half of the sub criteria have changed either in the details of what we are looking for, or the weight of the item. Additionally, there are around 20 new sub criteria this year.

Important dates

The ranking started in the middle of June and will close August 31. If you are doing major changes to your website during that period, you can report the changes you have made in an email to us.

Don't forget to list the changes you have made and include links to those pages. Send the information to webranking@comprend.com no later than August 12.

Ranking starts: 20 June
Ranking closes: 31 August
Last day to report updates: 12 August
