Thanks to this year's survey respondents, Comprend has donated 2400€ to charity. The total sum was a three-way split between Médecins Sans Frontières, WWF and Hand in Hand. The surveys play a pivotal role in the yearly Webranking process.
Comprend's mission is to help companies communicate better.
To do so, we have created a ranking of the top listed companies in Europe, assessing how well they communicate with their stakeholders through the corporate website and social media channels. This study is called Webranking by Comprend, which is celebrating its 20th edition this year.
So what is the Webranking process like?
The websites' evaluation is made during the summer, based on 50 criteria and 10 sections.
Before we can start ranking companies, we need to identify the criteria to evaluate the websites against. To do this, we need to know what areas the criteria should evaluate.
We then proceed to ask the companies' typical stakeholders what content they want corporate websites and official social media channels to offer. This is where the surveys come in.
Surveys: what about them?
To gather the necessary information for the criteria creation, Comprend conducts two surveys every year, directed at website target groups such as jobseekers, professionals, students, investors, business journalists and analysts. The idea behind the surveys is to gather relevant data about the perceived importance of different content in each traditional website section for relevant target-audiences.
After we gather all the data on what different stakeholders want to find in the companies´ channels, we can then start redesigning the different sections and reviewing criteria for that Webranking season. Then, applying what we have learnt, there is only the ranking left to be done. Results follow suit, towards the end of the year.
At the end of this year's questionnaire, respondents had the option to choose which charity to donate to. Comprend committed to donating 5€ per respondent as a token of appreciation for participating.
This year we achieved a total of 2400€ in donations. Here is how that breaks down per charity, according to respondents´ preferences:
- Médecins Sans Frontières: 1100€
- WWF: 840€
- Hand in hand: 460€
